South African Association of Physicists in Medicine and Biology

Overview of the Association

The Association is a wide ranging organisation covering a number of different fields such as:

• Medical Physics
• Nuclear Medicine
• Radiation Oncology
• Radiobiology
• Medical Physics
• Health Informatics

Its emphasis is on the interaction of Physics with the human body. While the Association has a number of independent members it also acts as an umbrella organisation for three related societies, namely: The South African Medical Physics Society (SAMPS), The South African Radiation Protection Society (SARPS) and the South African Radiobiology Society (SARS).
