What does a Medical Physicist do?

In the medical environment, ionising and non-ionising radiation are being used for diagnostic as well as therapeutic purposes. It is the responsibility of medical physicists to ensure that the general public, patients and personnel are protected from any unnecessary medical radiation exposure. Medical physicists are performing their radiation protection duties in mainly three medical disciplines which are:
